Native American heritage celebrated at museum, schools

The C.M. Russell Museum is helping to celebrate Native American Heritage Week with a new exhibit called "Native America In Art." Dozens of paintings from the museums’ permanent collection showcase artworks from the 19th through the 21st century.

Teepee Fire burning near Yellowstone

A new wildfire is burning about 17 miles north of West Yellowstone.
The Teepee Fire is burning approximately 20 acres, and 32 firefighters along with a pair of helicopters are working on the blaze, according to officials with the Gallatin National Forest.
Fire bosses said they hope that Monday night’s cool temperatures will help lay the fire down.

Students catalog tepee rings where ancient tribes lived

Looters and collectors got there first in almost every case, but enough evidence may remain in the hundreds of tepee rings that cover Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area to fill information gaps 10,000 years wide.
